Past Exhibitions

Monterey Museum of Art's mission is to collect artwork that accurately represents the diversity of California art—past, present, and future. Our commitment is to recognize and address the inequalities within the art world and acquire art from populations underrepresented in our collection. MMA has worked to strengthen the collection's representation of the diversity of California art and artists. This exhibition is a chance to see a small portion of what the Museum has added over the past eight years. It spans three galleries, with two dedicated to more contemporary artists and one that represents the historical portion of our collection and mission.
