Past Exhibitions

Curated from the Museum's permanent collection of California Art, this exhibition displays the artistic heritage of the Monterey Peninsula. Including pieces by influential California Impressionists and early Modernists, the exhibition also displays the works of two masters who were undervalued in their time. Visitor favorites and new acquisitions alike, this exhibition is a rare chance to experience this slice of the Museum's permanent collection.

About the Curator

John Rexine served as Director of Collections and Exhibitions at Monterey Museum of Art for 14 years. Before joining MMA, Rexine held previous roles as Registrar of the MIT List Visual Arts Center, Registrar of the Rose Art Museum, and Registrar of the Everson Museum of Art.
