[MONTEREY, CA] The Monterey Museum of Art is promoting its first ever “No-Go” gala. In lieu of a traditional fundraiser, the Museum is inviting patrons to stay home and unwind. The novel approach was conceived by the Friends of the Museum as a creative response to the economic climate. “We felt that rather than hosting an elaborate fundraiser, it was appropriate that 100% of donations go directly towards the Museum,” said Executive Director, E. Michael Whittington.
There is no date to the event, which invites people to “Kick off your shoes…stay home and relax.” Contributors are invited to enjoy a quiet evening at home knowing 100% of their donations to the MMA No-Go Gala benefit the Monterey Museum of Art and its programs. Invitees “RSVP” by sending a donation directly to the Museum.
