March 13-June 20, 2010
MMA La Mirada

One of the most prominent living California artists, Roland Petersen (b. 1926) played an instrumental role in the evolution of two San Francisco artistic schools—abstract expressionism and the Bay Area figurative movement. The Monterey Museum of Art’s project comprises the first museum retrospective of the artist’s career.

General operating support is provided by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. Sponsored by Carolyn Samson and Darius Sadeghi, Suzanne Diamond and Dimitri Haniotis and the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation. Additional marketing support provided by an Arts Regional Initiative grant from the James Irvine Foundation.
