MontereyNOW: Pam Carroll

November 19, 2009-March 21, 2010
MMA Pacific Street

Pam Carroll considers herself a realist painter. Whether painting lemons, seashells or portraits, her approach is rigorous, as she carefully translates each feature of her subject, rendering it with painstaking accuracy. With her expert use of trompe l’oeil, a “fool the eye” painting technique, she can tantalizingly pull the viewer into a world of illusion, where the distinction between the tangible world and its more beguiling reflection is uncannily blurred.

MontereyNOW is an exhibition series presenting local artists who have made significant contributions to the visual arts.

This exhibition series is sponsored by Barbara and William Hyland.
