A selection of pigment prints by this contemporary artist that explore notions of feminity. Based on a series of paintings of Chinese courtesans, these prints couple the inviting poses of the women with playful shapes and calligraphic marks that swim across the picture plane. Hung Liu is a Chinese American artist who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. She frequently themes related to history and cultural memory.
