August 21, 2019 | Allyson Hitte | Press Room, Press Room/Blog

PazFrom September 4 – 21st, Paz de la Calzada will be in residence at Monterey Museum of Art La Mirada Cultural Center.  The artist will create an installation in the stairway at MMA Pacific Street, host interactive workshops, play a creative role in the Museum’s annual Ferment Event, and open her studio to visitors during her time in Monterey.

As part of her residency, Paz de la Cazada will produce Bucolica, a multidisciplinary art project consisting of a site-specific installation and a vitrine displaying personal related objects. Inspired by the Bucolic genre, this work reflects the artist’s journey to rediscover the values of Romanticism and the notion that the landscape embodies a certain state of emotive consciousness meant to inspire awe and reflection
