Bring your family to celebrate the beauty of the Monterey Bay area coast, immortalized in the works of Armin Hansen and William Ritschel. Join us for storytelling and book signing with Belle Yang, as well as performances, tours, and hands-on family art activities with artist Anne Greene. This event is free to Monterey County residents and visitors.

Songs of the Sea: An Evening of Sea Shanties featuring Holdstock & MacLeod
Surrounded by the work of two of the most renowned painters of Monterey, join Dick Holdstock and Allan MacLeod as they perform their rousing ballads of life at sea reflecting on the quotidian coastal life portrayed in Men, Ships and the Sea: Masterworks of California Painting by Armin Hansen and William Ritschel. Having mastered the art of traditional harmonies, Dick and Allen trade off on mandolin, guitar, and a cappella arrangements to leave a resonating memory with the audience.

A Day of Art-filled Adventures at Point Lobos
The Monterey Museum of Art joins Point Lobos State Reserve in celebrating their 75th anniversary during the month of May. The Monterey Museum of Art has readied a slew of activities for the entire family. In addition to adventure hikes and shoreline walks, there will be opportunities to paint a watercolor landscape, make your own foam stamp, create a personalized postcard and even dress up in a tree costume. Drive-in fee to the park, $9; no charge to walk-in visitors. All activities are free
