Written in 1917, The Old Lady Shows Her Medals is an amusing and touching play inspired by WWI about an elderly Scottish woman who invents a son in order to impress her friends. The Twelve Pound Look, from 1892, concerns a wife divorcing her husband and gaining an independent income.
