A Critical Discussion

Join the Monterey Museum of Art as we gather an expert panel of curators, scholars, art dealers, and gallerists to discuss how women shaped California Ceramics in the second half of the 20th Century.  Learn how ceramicists Coille Hooven, Viola Frey, and others forged the way for generations of women in ceramics and glass arts through groundbreaking art and feminist activism.

Be sure to stick around for a light reception from 5:00-6:00 PM to continue the conversation with our panelists and guests.  We will have a t-shirt screen printing workshop where you can buy and make your own “Famous Female Artist” t-shirt in honor of Coille Hooven’s activism in the ceramics community, and to commemorate this event.
