Docent Program

Monterey Museum of Art Docents share a passion for art and art education.

Monterey Museum of Art Docents assist visitors’ understanding and appreciation of the Museum’s collection by encouraging thought-provoking dialogue and by providing accurate, precise information. Docents help visitors develop interpretations of works by providing new ways of seeing and thinking about art.

We are looking for art enthusiasts to join our dynamic and prestigious volunteer organization. Monterey Museum of Art Docents answer questions from visitors from near and far. They lead tours for students of all ages, special interest groups and seniors. Docent tours are tailored to the unique interests and needs of the group making each experience inspirational and memorable. Requirements: Docents are members of the Monterey Museum of Art and complete a training program before leading tours.
