The John H. Marble Galleries of California Art

Pilchard_Boats_St_Ives_12x16_MMA.smallThe Marble Galleries were established in 2006 by a gift in memory of Louise Bougie Beland from the John H. Marble Endowment Fund.  The upstairs galleries feature changing installations of California Art in diverse media from early California to the present – drawn primarily from the Museum’s outstanding collection.  Occasionally, touring exhibitions of California art are also shown in these galleries, as well as individual artworks on short and long-term loan. Currently on view are works by Mabel Alvarez, Stefani Esta, E. Charlton Fortune, Amy Kaufman, Evelyn McCormick, and many others
